Downtown LA Artwalk (Main+5th)
Posted by admin | Filed under Art, Color
My friends and I went to Downtown LA Artwalk at Main st. and 5th Ave. This is an once-a-month event. There are a lot of galleries open until 9PM, and show their artwork such as painting, photography, graphic art, jewelry etc… They were all interesting, and I love to feel the art environment to make myself inspire more.
Tonight, I found this one beautiful painting I fell in love with. Although of course, it was very expensive that I could not afford….
Dustin Otterbach: this is the one I really wanted. But where am I going to hang? So, I will save some money, and will wait until I’ll move out to a next beautiful home.

And this: Brooke Benson Designs – Beautiful Jewerly

I have to watch what I spend for these days. So I didn’t buy any. Yeay, good job Yuks!

Useful Tool Site: Copypastecharacter.com

I don’t think this is the “coolest” site, but I think it’s useful. Sometimes I have to find those special character keypad tool on my iMAC but using this one, I just need to go to this site, and one click on the specific character I want! It automatically copies to your clipboard. That’s it! Easy, right? ♥♦♠♣ ☃

Visual Art – Lucy and Bart: Bart Hess + Lucy McRae
Posted by admin | Filed under Art
This top page of the website is kinda creepy… but it’s also interesting.
Lucy and Bart>>
This collaboration of Lucy and Bart. When you go to Lucy McRae’s blog, you will see more artwork there.
The most thing I am curious and impressed about her art was the science, and technology meets art. And she writes “It looks to emotional and physiological sensing, as a way of exploring new indirect ways of communicating.” I love this concept.
Electronic Sensing Jewelry: It’s interesting that in our near future, we can all tell other’s feeling by looking at the object such as this. It is a new way of communicating and it’s fascinating but at the same time, we don’t have to verbally communicate anymore..?
However, in Japanese we have a word “Ishin-Denshin” which means we understand each other’s feeling, or thought without communicating. It is a beauty of our culture. She should name this jewerly: Ishin-Denshin. haha

My Milk Toof – Artist: Inhae Renee Lee
Posted by admin | Filed under Art
I found this adorable “Toof” character through Facebook. After one of my friends became a “fan”, I had to see what’s going on with the cute photo. I checked some of the photos on FB, and I also found her blog as well, and had to visit. I just couldn’t get enough… hehe
I’ve seen 2 characters so far: Ickle and Lardee.
As I am looking at those photos, I assume (at least trying) Ickle is the shy one and Lardee is friendly one.
The story this artist Inhae Renee Lee writes and how it develops on each shots, how she creates on each expression on their faces, and how she shoot their photos are beautiful and tickle my heart and I want to chuckle because my heart is so tickled by their cuteness. He can eat, he can chew, he can read, he can be shy… Can I be your friend, Ickle and Lardee?
I asked Inhae about this characters if she sells anywhere in any kind of products. Her answer is: no…
But she is thinking about making a book in the future. Totally you should go for this, Inhae! I will be the first customer to buy your book!
I am very looking forward to seeing your project each time!
Ickle is getting his teeth out.
This is Lardee. Thoughtful Lardee.
Ickle is being shy when he met Lardee.

Great Watch Design – Industrial Designer: Hironao Tsuboi
Posted by admin | Filed under Industrial Design
This industrial Designer: Hironao Tsuboi made an awesome, amazing LED watch design. As soon as I saw this through Geekologie article (April 19th, 2009), I feel in love with it.
I asked the “100%” who carry most of his products when they are going to sell this watch, their answer was “probably end of this year”. And the price might be around $400-$500… Wow. But I think it’s worth it. I was looking for a watch like this. Simple and unique but it does its work, you know.

This is another beautiful idea/product from him. The bottom of the glass leaves the cherry blossom shape: SAKURASAKU glass.
This one actually on sale. Price starts from around $20 each.

You also have a size choice of 32×32, 24×24, and 16×16.
You choose the background color.
When you finish choosing all the colors, you can download a zip file. You will receive PNG files.

Cool Color Tool – Kuler
Posted by admin | Filed under Color, Web Design
I have several bookmarks for Color Picker tool. But this Kuler is pretty cool. They show you the latest, hottest color combination which is created by some other designers as well as your own choice. You can create cool color combination by using selecting Rule such as “Triad”, “Complimentary”, “Compound”, “Monochromatic” etc… As setting rules, you don’t have to go wrong road to create some kind of crazy color combination.
I like this tool. I think this is the easiest color tool to create ones I’ve seen so far.
